‘Yew cannot be serious!’ Local residents snubbed by Forestry Commission in Surrey

Keith Taylor, Green Party MEP for the South East, hit out at Forest Enterprise England (FEE) after the public body refused to meet local residents to hear their concerns about the management of FEE land in Dorking.

Mr Taylor MEP, a member of the European Parliament’s Environment Committee and European Chair of the Climate Parliament, said:

“I find it extraordinary that a public body funded by taxpayers has flat out refused to meet with those taxpayers and their elected representative. The organisation has completely failed to twig just how bad this looks.”

Greens back petition calling for Hunting Act strengthening to stop wildlife killings

Keith Taylor, MEP for South East England and Green Party Animals Spokesperson has signed a petition calling for hunting legislation to be strengthened, amid growing concerns that British wildlife is still being targeted due to loopholes in the law.

Signing the petition, launched by animal welfare charity the League Against Cruel Sports, Keith Taylor met with representatives from the charity at its Surrey headquarters, to find out how ‘trail’ hunting is being used as a cover for illegal hunting and how exemptions and loopholes in the law are resulting in wildlife being chased and killed in the name of ‘sport’.

Keith Taylor MEP said:

“I’m delighted to be joining the tens of thousands of people who are calling for an urgent review of the laws to prevent hunting. Unfortunately for Britain’s vulnerable wild animals, hunts continue with little or no consequences, resulting in needless, cruel, and illegal deaths. We must ensure the laws work as advertised and that foxes, deer, badgers and dogs get the protection they deserve.”
