  • December 10, 2022: Join us to elect more greens in Hove - Brunswick & Adelaide - December

On Saturday 10th December, Green Party councillors for Brunswick & Adelaide, Hannah and Phélim, will be speaking to residents about the most important issues in Brighton & Hove.

In May 2023, Brighton & Hove go to the polls. Our city will be selecting a slate of councillors to represent us at the council for the next four years.

There are lots of exciting developments happening which put us in a strong position to make gains in Hove & Portslade, while defending our current seats. We have effective campaign plans ready to action. However, we need to get out and speak to voters, in order to ensure that our message resonates with them.

It's important that residents across the entire city know what Green councillors are doing to help communities, so whether you live in Brunswick & Adelaide, or elsewhere, your help will be hugely appreciated. You do not need any prior door-knocking experience: we will brief volunteers on the day and scripts will be provided. If you haven't door-knocked before, we will pair you up with someone who has.

Watch this video of Councillor Hannah Clare talking about how brilliant it is to see new faces at our action days.

Meeting at the Floral Clock in Palmeira Square, we'll disperse from there, in pairs or small groups. We'll be out from 11am to 1pm, but there's no obligation to stay for the whole time. We will head to the Farm Tavern (13 Farm Road) after the session.

    Host contact information:

Please include your mobile number to be added to a WhatsApp group where we can provide updates about the day and keep in touch.

If you’ve been waiting to get involved, this is the time! We have local elections coming up in May 2023, and Central Hove is a key target ward for Brighton & Hove Green Party.

If you've never been canvassing before, don't worry. No specialist knowledge required! Full training will be given, and we'll pair you with an experienced canvasser.

Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect.

  • December 16, 2022: Seasonal Social and Pub Quiz

Join us for a fun evening of seasonal socialising to see out the year in style.

We will be running a pub-style quiz with lots of opportunity for socialising. Expect festive refreshments and the opportunity to purchase something a little stronger at the bar.

2022 has been a busy year in Brighton and Hove as we have moved out of pandemic restrictions and towards the local elections next year. But none of it would be possible without you, the amazing members who have helped us make history over and over again. We would love to see you there, to say thank you, and to raise a glass of mulled wine to celebrate the end of a busy but exciting year. Come and join us!

We would also love to hear from you if you have anything that you could donate to a raffle. Times are tight, but if you have a bottle, a voucher, or even an experience that you feel you could donate please get in touch.

    See you there!

  • January 14, 2023: Round Hill action day

Join us for an action day in the brand new ward of Round Hill!

    We'll meet at 11am at 85 Prince's Crescent, BN2 3RA.

Our generous host will be providing lunch and hot drinks.

If you've never canvassed before, don't worry, we'll provide full training and send you out with an experienced activist. There will also be some leaflet deliveries available as an alternative.

Round Hill will be a key ward for us in the May 2023 elections. It consists of part of the current St Peter's & North Laine ward, and part of Preston Park ward. Our candidates are Cllr Pete West (standing for his 7th consecutive term as councillor!) and local activist Raphael Hill.

Please RSVP so our host knows how much lunch to make!

  • January 21, 2023: National Action Weekend with Caroline Lucas

In Brighton and Hove we are gearing up for all-out local elections in May 2023 and we are also looking towards the next General Election to ensure that we retain our amazing MP, Caroline Lucas, and make gains in Hove and Kemptown. To do this we need you!

We need to get the message out there that Greens can win, not just in our existing seats, but all over the city.

During our last Action Weekend in October we were joined by Sian Berry and Caroline Lucas, and we knocked on over 2,700 doors. This time we want to reach over 3,000 homes. We'll be speaking to residents across Brighton and Hove about the work we've been doing and what we could achieve with more Greens on the council and in parliament.

This will be the first big action in our ambitious 2023 campaign schedule. Caroline will be joining us to help kickstart the year and we would love to see you here too!

We will provide you with a delicious lunch, as well as support and training from the friendly team behind the Brighton and Hove Green Party.

You are welcome to join us for the whole weekend, or to come for either day. You will be trained and fully supported throughout. It's also a great chance to meet like-minded activists from all over the South-East and beyond! We would love it if you could come and join us!
