Your local election candidates for Central Hove

Green Party - Central Hove Candidates, Ray Cunningham & Rebbeca Jones from hyperoculus on Vimeo.

Your candidates for Mayy 2015 were:

Rebecca Jones

Rebecca Jones

Rebecca lives in the ward, though she moved to Brighton over 20 years ago as a student and has lived all over the city. She first became interested in politics while working in East Brighton with resident-led community groups. Now working on affordable warmth and fuel poverty projects across the south east, she joined the Green Party because she feels frustrated by the injustice she sees daily through her work. Her work also brings her into contact with other councils struggling to deal with the  cuts forced on them by central government. She is proud of the way the city’s Green administration has dealt with this difficult situation and believes the party is the only one to put the ordinary public first.

Ray Cunningham

Ray Cunningham

Ray has lived in Hove (in neighbouring Westbourne ward) with his partner and two children, both attending local schools, since 2004. He has been a Green Party member since 1997, standing in local and European election campaigns and serving (twice) as Chair of the local party. He has worked in policy research and research management since completing his own research doctorate, and is now a freelance writer, translator, editor and consultant, specialising in international environmental policy. Brighton voters and Green party members have shown that a different politics, with the right priorities, is possible, and Ray wants to continue this essential work for a sustainable city and a sustainable future.
