About Amy
Councillor Amy Kennedy
Amy represents Preston Park ward, and is the Green Group Deputy Convenor with responsibility for External Relations. Since the Greens became the largest party on the Council in the May 2011 elections, Amy serves as Deputy Leader of the Council alongside Ian Davey.
Her campaigning work includes successfully calling for the prosecution of developers who felled protected trees in the ward, and working to improve sustainability measures at the city's events.
With a background in the construction & design industry, Amy is the local Green Party spokesperson on Planning & the Built Environment, and is a Trustee of the Phoenix Arts Association, the largest artist-led arts organisation in the South East of England.
Amy is a first-class English & Critical Theory graduate (University of Sussex 1996), and a former student of Architecture. Politics aside, her passions include music, food, art, poetry, the built environment, and nature.
